ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Emil Gataullin's exhibition combines two different series of the author: photographs of Moscow taken after February 24, 2022 and a series taken in Kolyma.

"These changes, sometimes blatant, like the letter "Z" on a skyscraper, sometimes subtle, but filled with an air of anxiety and alienation, connect these photos with a series previously shot in the Kolyma region. It is as if what one does not want to think about is seeping into the dressed-up capital with persistent insistence. Kolyma is not just a province. Kolyma is a place where the alienation of a person from others and life itself has manifested with destructive force."
